Expanded Perlite

Perlite is an amorphous volcanic glass that has a relatively high water content. It is a mineral that appears in nature, and has the uncommon property of expanding tremendously when heated sufficiently.

When it reaches temperatures of 850–900 ° C, pearlite softens (since it is a glass). Water trapped in the structure of the material escapes and vaporizes, and this causes the expansion of the material to 20 times its original volume. Expanded material is bright white, due to reflectivity of trapped bubbles.

We have several granulometries: (0-1,5mm), (0,5-2mm), (1-3mm), (3-6mm)
